Support
So what does it take for us to live in Poland? A lot of faith and prayer!
Before we can depart for Poland, there are some practical needs which must be met, these needs are outlined in our “deployment” budget, our “ministry” budget, and our “personal” budget. Part of our accountability towards our friends at Foursquare Missions is that we will be good stewards of what God has given us, that we will budget realistically, even more conservative than is probably needed, and that we are transparent with our needs.
A breakdown (the quick and dirty) of the spreadsheet.
The magic 120% number: This is the goal needed for us to be “sent” – once we have donors who have committed 120% of our monthly budget, then we will be given the “green light” from FMI. If you wish to commit, but can’t start giving yet, simply let us know and this will count towards our number, as long as you can begin giving just one month before we go (about November of 2010). We could go into the “why” behind this – but in the end, we trust the process and it’s what God has given us.
Deployment budget: Everything we need to leave the country, reserve, savings, emergency costs, etc.
Personal budget: What we as a family live off of, such as groceries, utilities, etc. This does not include money for ministry costs, such as conferences, travel to different cities, etc.
Ministry budget: These are costs associated with ministry, conferences, camps, travel in country and out, savings for these kinds of events, benevolence, resources for training and discipleship.
The following is a breakdown of all our anticipated expenses, with Poland eventually joining the Euro zone and other economic factors this budget is subject to change, we have been conservative in our numbers by buffering the costs of most things by around 10%. It may seem like a lot at first glance, and so we made intentional efforts to break things down in reasonable bites, and even found some possible support scenarios so we could grasp how this may work out. In the end though it is God’s kingdom and he will provide for what he orders!
